    Description

This tour includes a visit to the most prominent Oracles of Ancient Epirus, the famous Necromanteion (Oracle of the Dead) where your tour begins.
This is a place connected to the gods of the Underworld, and the cult that follows them. It is situated close to the banks of River Acheron and, according to ancient Greek folklore, this place was the entrance to Hades.
From there you will travel to Dodona and visit the Temple and Oracle of Zeus. Here you will have the opportunity to admire one of the most incredible theaters of the ancient world; a theatre that accommodated up to 18,000 spectators!
You will walk in the footsteps of the ancient pilgrims. They trekked to the Holy Oak Tree to seek answers from Zeus to their most secret questions.
A visit to the Archaeological Museum of Ioannina is the culmination of this tour. This is the place where you will see the findings from the two oracles.
Ioannina town is famous for the Baklava; a delicious sweet pastry dessert. No visit here is complete without tasting it and you will not be disappointed. There are also a multitude of other local speciality dishes for you to try.
Once you’ve had the chance to enjoy a great meal in Ioannina town, it is time to head back to Igoumenista. The return journey is less than an hour and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Epirus on the way.
